This is it. Last chance for Zach Wilson as a New York Jet and potentially as a starting NFL quarterback. Here we have a game in primetime, where everyone will be watching (thanks to Taylor Swift) and the Jets, at home, are almost 9 point dogs. This is a tough pick to make but you can’t play the Chiefs. Not because the Chiefs aren’t amazing and Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the league. All that we know. It’s because the Chiefs offense hasn’t looked great this year. And now they face the toughest defense they’ve seen. The Detroit Lions, who have a pretty mediocre secondary (bottom 10 in the league) held the Chiefs to 20 at Arrowhead. The Jags? Also a bad bottom 10 secondary held them to 17. Yes, they dismantled the Bears but they are a dumpster fire unlike anyone has seen in the NFL in a long time. Look, I am not betting on Zach Wilson here. I am betting on the Jets defense to show up in primetime. They did so in Week 1 after Rodgers went down. I’m also not betting on the Jets to win outright here, even though I would keep this one out of my suicide pools. I need the Jets to Shake the negativity Off (see what I did there?) and keep it within one score.
