Best Bet: New England Patriots -3.5 (-105)

I’ve gotten the sense that the books WANT you to take the Lions this week. This line has hovered between 3 and 3.5 all week. Sort of like them dangling the hook in front of you, tempting you to take the Lions team that put up 45 points last week. I think it’s a trap. I don’t think the Lions will be as effective today against the Pats. A Bill Belichick defense is just not giving up that many points. Last time Belichick faced Jared Goff was in the Super Bowl. He screwed him up so bad that Sean McVay traded him out of town because he knew he could never win a championship with him. I expect the Patriots to put a ton of pressure on Goff today - which will lead to turnovers. Any fears of Bailey Zappe, are also overblown as well. The Pats will be rushing the ball and rushing it a lot against the 32nd overall run defense. Give me the better team at home to cover slightly over a field goal.
