Sammy Watkins o37.5 rec. yards (-140)

SB 55 Best Bet: Tyreek Hill’s game against the Bucs earlier this year has gotten a lot of attention this week. He went absolutely bonkers. After the 1st quarter, he was squarely in play for the best game EVER by a WR in the history of the NFL. He 203 yds and 2 TDs…in the 1st quarter. Epic eruption. He ended the game with 13 receptions / 269 yards / 3 TDs. So he was “held” to only 63 more yards in 3 quarters. This tells me that Todd Bowles, the Bucs defensive coordinator, realized he was getting burned badly and needed to do anything to stop the bleeding. My logic for this pick is simple, I just can’t imagine that Bowles’ gameplan today does not include stopping Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce at all costs. If I’m Bowles, my thought process is, if we lose this game, it’s not going to be because I let Hill burn me again. With that said, Sammy Watkins has been out for awhile and hasn’t played since week 15. He’s the forgotten about weapon for the Chiefs. But I think if Hill and Kelce get extra attention from the Bucs, that will translate to Watkins being more open. And when Watkins has had the chance in the playoffs, he has performed. In his 5 postseason games with the Chiefs, he’s never gone under 62 yards. I like Sammy to have a good game today.
