Best Bet: Carolina Panthers +10 (-115)

Here is your reminder to not be “that guy”. You know that guy - the ultra public square bettor that reacts strictly off of what they saw last. What we saw last was a horrific performance from the Panthers that ultimately was the last straw that got Matt Rhule fired. Not a great last image. We also have the supposedly “good” LA Rams getting handled at home by the Dallas Cowboys. The public narrative is that the Rams are “due” and that this is a get right spot against a flailing Panthers team. I will conceit that the Rams are the better team. I will also give you that they need this win to basically save their season. However, do they need to win by double digits? What’s their purpose for margin here? They have no running game and a bad line, so they will be one-dimensional against a Panthers defense that is 17th overall DVOA. I’m also getting a team playing after their coach got fired - a very profitable betting trend. Plus, the actual reason Rhule got fired (Baker Mayfield) is out today and I’m getting PJ Walker, who cannot play any worse than Baker has. It’s double digits in the NFL, I’m taking.
