I want to state this upfront: I believe in the Vikings. So this is not going to be a take on why I think Minnesota is a fraud. What I think is I am getting a first time QB in a playoff game, going on the road (even on a neutral, this is closer to LA and NOT in Minny). And on the other side, I am getting a Super Bowl winning QB and coach. This matchup is also teacher (McVay) vs. pupil (O’Connell) and I always like to take the teacher in those situations. Now, the wildcard (pun intended) is how this will take place in Arizona and not LA. All after the Rams sat starters last week knowing they would have a home game. The rest certainly favors the Rams. Also, I don’t know what we are getting from O’Connell as a coach. While he probably wins Coach of the Year this year, his only playoff game was two years ago when he got completely carved up by Daniel Jones. At home. Uhhhh…that does not inspire confidence. Finally, in the spirit of if you are going to cover, you will most likely just win the game, which is the case 81% of the time in the Wildcard round, I will just play the Rams money line.
