If you’ve been watching football for the last month, what I’m about to say is not a controversial statement: the SF 49ers are the best team in football. You can say that the Eagles are also undefeated, but the Niners look better than the Eagles. Now comes their biggest test so far, the Cowboys who have also looked good themselves but dropped a game to a bad team. This is also a playoff rematch from last year. The game that Pollard got injured and the Niners pulled out. My main handicap in this game is the line. It’s at Niners -3.5 and has stayed there all week. Hasn’t budged. I agree with the line. You can’t make this under a FG and the Niners are slightly better and home so the hook makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is why the books would give you the hook, knowing full well the average bettor would just say, great give me the points with the team that’s almost as good! Too easy, right? Wrong. The Niners are better all around and will wear down this Dallas team. Dak will have trouble with this defense and the Niners will move the ball. As long as Purdy doesn’t make too many mistakes, the Niners should take care of business.
