Best Bet: LA Chargers -3.5 (-110)

I can clearly remember the Sunday night, last game of the season that knocked the Chargers out of the playoffs last year. I’m sure the Chargers remember it too. LA has spent the season improving their team and more specifically, their defense, for this moment. Unfortunately, they won’t have JC Jackson in the fold, which will certainly help with this Raiders receiving corps. However, I expect the Chargers to be better at defending the pass this year. As for the run, they almost have to improve, by default. Plus, the Raiders don’t run the ball that well anyway. I think Justin Herbert carves up this bad secondary and even with a “homefield advantage”, the Raiders will have a hard time going blow for blow with the Chargers offense. I would like this number better at -3 but we work with what’s available. Gimmie the Chargers to make a statement.
