Philadelphia Eagles +7 (-110) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
10/9/10 Best Bet: The Battle of the Keystone State! This game probably looked much better on paper when the schedule makers made it back in May. The Steelers have kept up their end of the bargain by going 3-0 thus far and are now coming off of their coronabye last week. And the Eagles have looked bad for the most part this year but are coming off an outright winner as 7.5+ point dogs against San Francisco last week. I understand why this line is so high but I have to take the points with the Eagles here because the public perception of the Steelers is way too rosy. First, who have the Steelers beat? The only decent team they’ve beaten was the Texans and they’re 0-4. Second, getting a +7 on a 44 total is value. In today’s NFL, 44 is a very low total. Finally, the Eagles finally won a game and will be supercharged against this Steelers team. While they have injuries across the the offense, the Eagles are generally healthy on defense and their defensive line is playing well. I am still not sold on the Steelers and want Ben to prove it to me. He has yet to do so. Gimmie the Birds getting a touchdown in a game I expect to be closer than expected.
