L.A. Dodgers (Kershaw -L) -157 vs. Tampa Bay Rays (Glasnow -R)
10/20/20 Best Bet: The World Series is finally upon us and the two best teams in a shortened 60-game season just happen to be the participants. We all expected variance and ended up getting chalk. While that’s a bummer, not to worry…this is a really good matchup. Tonight I’m on the Dodgers. Hear me out: yes, Kershaw has been a complete disaster in the postseason. This is all very well documented. I do not need to get into the particulars. I really think after all the failures, he will just coast tonight. There is no pressure, as he’s basically expected to fail at this point. He’s in the bubble and not at a super-tense Dodger Stadium. He’s going up against a Rays team, that while they do hit lefties better (.222 AVG / .321 OBP / .424 SLG), are not exactly world beaters. On the other side, I think the Dodgers can get to Glasnow, who’s been mediocre in the postseason (4.66 ERA / 3.74 xFIP). I really think that this Dodgers team has been here before and now have Mookie Betts and that will be the difference tonight. Gimmie the Dodgers in Game 1.
