12/19/20 Best Bet: I’m on the Vikes against the Bears. This one is all about buying low and selling high. It doesn’t get much higher than how the Bears looked last week. And while the Bears were clicking on every facet of the game, showing what they can do, its too little too late. Nagy is coaching for his job and Trubisky is playing for his career. While I thought this was enough, it’s clearly not. What the Bears did last week against Deshaun Watson and 10 other guys, along with a bottom 3 defense is not repeatable. The Vikings are not the Texans and have greatly improved on defense. Mike Zimmer is one of the best coaches in cover percentage in NFL history. He’s Belichick-level in that sense. And the Vikings really should be serious playoff contenders too. They should have at bare minimum covered last weeks game but their kicker, Dan Bailey, missed every single kick he took (seriously, every. single. one.). So what looked like a blowout against the Bucs, was really a very competitive game. Yea, give me the underrated Vikings.
