9/17/20 Best Bet: What a game we were treated to the other night. Overtime! Jimmy Buckets doing alpha things! That block! The overtime helped that total, 209, go over. And who doesn’t love action and overs?! Profitable sports bettors, that’s who. If you want to beat the bookie, you have to be comfortable playing unders. I really mean this. Bettors should be required to write this 100 times on a chalkboard like Bart Simpson. But I digress…the overtime helped push Game 1 over. The inactivity for both of these teams also helped. The Heat hadn’t played since September 8th and the Celtics since September 11th. Defense requires engagement and effort, which seemed to be lacking most of this game. I think the two of the most fundamental coaches in the league (Spoelstra and Stevens) will preach defense and make the other team work for their shots. Miami and Boston, rated 1 & 2, respectively in Defense through the playoffs, are not trying to win games in shootouts. Give me the under 209.5 tonight in the Bubble.
