Justin Fields and a (still) objectively bad Bears team favored in Week 1 against their arch nemesis Packers? No thanks. I did not understand this line when it came out. I do not understand this line (and the subsequent love) for the Bears now. What has earned the Bears the right to be favored in this game? Home field is at best 2 points. So this line is saying that the Bears are slightly worse than the Packers. Nope! The Packers have the better defense. The better offensive line. The better coach. I think it is the skepticism and anti-Jordan Love sentiment. Ok…no matter what you think of Love (who looked good in the preseason), he’s not going to be the X factor in this game. If the Packers win it will be through the ground and their two excellent RBs against the WORST run defense in the NFL. “But, but, but, the Bears now have DJ Moore!” Cool. He will be matched up with Jaire Alexander, a top 5 corner. I still do not have any evidence that Fields could be an effective passer in the NFL. All that and the Packers own the Bears. Chicago needs to prove to me why they are getting all this offseason love. Until then, they are getting faded.
