11/29/20 Best Bet: Another disgusting bet you just have to make. Listen, I understand that playing the Packers after a close loss on the road to right the ship is the default here, however, I can’t. There’s no way on Earth I could play the Packers in this spot. This spot is either Bears or pass. I get a divisional game with a ton of points. More importantly, I’m getting Mitch Trubisky fighting for his career and a contract. This plays to our advantage here. Mitch can run and mix things up and let’s not forget, the Packers are one of the bottom third teams against the run in the NFL (20th DVOA). I’m also getting Matt Nagy coaching for his job too. Don’t get it twisted, with the 4th overall defense in the league and Nagy being an offensive coach, this year has been a major indictment of him. I really think that if they don’t make the playoffs he’s gone. (I think the GM, Ryan Pace, is gone regardless because he’s made epic level-bad decision making). All I keep thinking about is how horrible the Packers looked in the 2nd half against a good defense last week and now they get the desperate Bears in a must win spot. Gimmie the Bears +8.5 (I’m good with this down to +7.5, as it will most likely get there).
