Best Bet: New Orleans Saints +3 (-110)

I haven’t liked what I’ve seen from the Saints this year. Almost losing to the Falcons and then summarily losing a dog fight with the Bucs, before just looking bad against the Panthers. It turns out that Jameis Winston has a semi-broken back. No lie. Dude is trying to play through serious damage. I also think that last week’s poor showing is due to them getting beat up from the Tampa game. After all, Tampa is the best defense in the NFL. This game is in London, which I think favors the more veteran and seasoned team in the Saints. New Orleans is coming off an ugly loss and is taking this game seriously. They traveled to London straight from Carolina, while the Vikings just left on Friday night. Dennis Allen didn’t just forget to coach defense and I expect this talented group on the defensive side to show better than they have. I think getting a full 3 points here is key. Notice that when Andy Dalton was named the starter, this line only moved 0.5 point in the Vikings direction. It’s not that Jameis is only a half point better but a hurt Jameis, playing the way he has, is. I dunno where Justin Jefferson has been but I certainly don’t trust Kirk Cousins outside of a 1:00pm EST window game. I also can’t trust a rookie Head Coach in O’Connell that’s never taken a team to London before. The Red Rifle finds a way.
